Our visit to Amarillo, in this new day of coast to coast travel in the United StatesIt began with a walk through the city, after getting the car parked without paying!
Yellow, in TexasIt is a very nice, quiet, quite harmonious city. Ideal for a quiet life.
During our walk we saw a statue, with a plaque signed by former President Bush, in tribute to astronaut Rick Husband, son of Amarillo, and died in 2003, after the disintegration of NASA's Columbia ship, along with the entire crew of which he was his commander.

The visit that caught our attention the most, after the kind explanations at the Amarillo Visitor Center was Palo Duro Canyon, a state park located 25 miles from Amarillo, and where we decided to go.
Suddenly, Aurora realized that she had left her glasses in the motel. We returned quickly and, although the cleaning employees had already passed, and the sheets and quilts of the beds had been piled up in a corner, after a few moments of anxiety we found the glasses hidden by the sheets on the floor. Aurora breathed calmly.

Highlights, but incomparable with the 450 kilometers in length and more than 2,000 meters of maximum depth of the Grand Canyon.
We toured the canyon by car, stopping in those places that we found most attractive. It is really interesting to see the different forms that nature has taken over the centuries. You can clearly see the different geological layers, of different colors, as well as the vegetation.
